Target That Won’t Feel a Thing

Target That Won’t Feel a Thing

2009

Acrylic paint on cut paper

200 x 152 cm

Target That Won’t Feel a Thing is a life-size human target with its central nervous system removed. The cut-out nervous system is installed dangling on the wall behind the target, suggesting severe blood loss as the cut paper falls towards the ground. The installation provokes an instinctive, emotional response that contrasts with the idea that a target without a nervous system would be completely immune to pain.
