Jungle Gym

Jungle Gym

2014

Four-colour silkscreens on paper (Edition of 10)

33 x 45 cm each

Jungle Gym (Yellow Alert, Orange Alert, Red Alert) is a triptych that depicts men working out in a public park in Mexico City. Instead of focusing on the men, however, the images highlight the structures of the gym equipment, providing an bold contrast in a dark, foreboding and transient environment. The images are based on photos that I took while living in Mexico City, and combine various themes that run as threads through his career; the representation of masculinity, our relationship with technology, and our ongoing evolution.
