The Light at the End of the Tunnel

The Light at the End of the Tunnel

2009

Paper sequentially faded with sunlight

55 x 75 cm each

The Light at the End of the Tunnel is a series made by sequentially fading dark blue paper with natural sunlight over time. While the images represent a commonly described near-death experience or vision, they will also eventually disappear in time. Created for the exhibition Taparrabo at Ex Teresa Arte Actual in Mexico City in 2009, the artworks were lit with an ultraviolet light that gradually bleached the images of “the light at the end of the tunnel” over time.
