Target That Won't Feel a Thing
Acrylic paint on cut paper
78 3/4 x 60 inches
2009
Target That Won't Feel a Thing is a painted, life-size human silhouette with its central nervous system removed. The cut-out nervous system is installed dangling on the wall behind the target, which suggests severe blood loss as the cut paper falls towards the groud. The installation provokes an instinctive, emotional response that contrasts with the idea that a target without a nervous system would be completely immune to pain.
