The Penis Mightier than the Sword is a wall-based installation made with “Tip 'n Strip'” male nudie pens. The pens all bare images of men whose underwear will disappear when turned upright, and they are installed in the shape of a sword/cross. The installation hijacks the adage of ‘brain over brawn’, suggesting an inherent connection between violence and male sexuality. Furthermore, in reference to abuse within the Church, it reveals something sinister buried in the ‘higher moral ground’.
